Dan Plews is an Applied Exercise Physiologist and one of the most sought-after scientific minds regarding endurance sports on the planet. Dan completed his PhD in 2013 on Heart Rate Variability (HRV) with a thesis titled ‘The Practical Applications of Heart Rate Variability’. Dr Plews has been studying heart rate variability for over 10 years, has published 15 papers and has been cited over 1800 times in the Scientific Literature.
Dr Plews has worked closely with athletes who have won more than 25 World and Olympic titles. Dan has coached multiple Ironman Triathletes to the coveted sub 8hr mark and recently has taken over the reins of coaching Javier Gomez. Dan is a very accomplished endurance athlete having set the Ironman age group World Championship course record in 2018 in 8:24:36.
